Everyone of the Muslims understood the Roman Empire of the east was washed up. But the
The Holy Roman Empire ended in two distinct stages, the Western Roman Empire fell in 476 C.E. Romulus Augustus got kicked out by chieftain Odoacer, in 476 C.E.
The Eastern Roman Empire (The Byzantine Empire) was still in business for 1,000 years more - Until, of course, the Muslims, led by Sultan Mehmet and his "NEVER SAY DIE" attitude (and around 200,000 to 300,000 troops) changed everything.
🏛️ Western Roman Empire
Fall Date:476 CE
How: The last emperor, Romulus Augustulus, was deposed by the Germanic chieftain Odoacer.
Significance: This is traditionally considered the end of Ancient Rome and the start of the Middle Ages in Western Europe.
🏰 Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine Empire)
Fall Date:1453 CE
How: The Ottomans under Sultan Mehmed II conquered Constantinople, the capital.
Significance: This marked the true end of the Roman Empire in its continuous form, which had lasted over 1,400 years.
Sultan Mehmet was in no mode for anymore Bysentine He had come over a huge mountain (and his men carrying the ship - thats' another story) - then Sultan Mehmet ordered his men, "SETUP AND FIRE!"
After the cannons had been tested and they were deemed ready for service, the Sultan Mehmed sent out the order to his officers to muster the forces and meet at the Ottoman capital of Edirne.
It might surprise some folks, but Islam shares more with Christianity than most people realize — including deep respect for Jesus, belief in the One True God, and the promise of the Afterlife.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the major similarities between Islam and Christianity, based on the Quran, Hadith, and the teachings of Jesus (peace be upon him).
1. Belief in One God
Bible: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” (Deuteronomy 6:4)
Quran: “Say: He is Allah, the One.” (Surah Al-Ikhlas 112:1)
➡️ Both religions teach pure monotheism — worshipping only the Creator, not His creation.
2. Love and Respect for Jesus (Peace be upon him)
Bible: Jesus is called the Messiah, a prophet, and servant of God.
Quran: “The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah...” (Surah An-Nisa 4:171)
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Whoever testifies there is no god but Allah... and that Jesus is the servant of Allah... will enter Paradise.” (Sahih Muslim 142)
3. Judgment Day & the Afterlife
Bible: “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ...” (2 Corinthians 5:10)
Quran: “Whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it. And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” (Surah Az-Zalzalah 99:7–8)
➡️ Both scriptures teach accountability for our actions and a clear Day of Judgment.
4. Heaven and Hell
Bible: Paradise and Hell are described in the teachings of Jesus and Revelation.
Quran: “Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow...” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:25)
5. Angels and Spirits
Bible: Mentions Gabriel, Michael, and others sent by God.
Bible: Mary is honored as the virgin mother of Jesus.
Quran: “O Mary, Allah has chosen you above all women of the worlds.” (Surah Aal-Imran 3:42)
➡️ The Quran even has an entire chapter named after Mary — Surah Maryam (Chapter 19).
7. Doing Good to Others
Bible: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31)
Quran: “Allah commands justice, good conduct, and giving to relatives...” (Surah An-Nahl 16:90)
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
8. The Return of Jesus (Peace be upon him)
Bible: Teaches the second coming of Jesus.
Hadith: “By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, surely the son of Mary will descend among you...” (Sahih al-Bukhari 3448, Sahih Muslim 155)
🕊️ Main Difference?
Christians worship Jesus, believing he is God, or partners with God. Muslims follow Jesus as a prophet — but worship the One God Jesus himself worshiped.
Islam corrects later changes by calling all people back to the same original message:
Worship the Creator — Not Creation
