The actual writing of { القرآن } (the Quran) started when the prophet, peace be upon him, started after he was recieving { الوحي } [Alwahi] (the revelations). It was 609 CE when he was 40 years old, and until he passed away at 63. Then it was complied by different companions. Then around 650 CE, it was unified for distribution for those who could read and write.
As far as partial translations go, the first translation of the Qur'an was performed by Salman the Persian, who translated Surah al-Fatiha into the Middle Persian in the early seventh century.
Salman Al Farsi Salman, a Persian companion of the Prophet Muhammad, translated the opening chapter of the Quran, Surah Al-Fatiha, into Persian during the Prophet's lifetime.
