Rawalpindi, Pakistan - Commandos raided their own army's headquarters today (Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009) freeing 30 people being held hostage by fighters who had staged an open attack on the compound while in disguise as military troops.
3 captives and 4 abductors were killed along with others during an almost 24 hour saga ending with the leader of the leaders being taken into custody, according to an army official. 22 died in the standoff, 6 were military, 2 were commandos, 8 were militants and 3 of the hostages and others - several were wounded.
