Irish actor Liam Neeson (getting closer to Islam every day?) - -

He is a great actor from Ireland and has revealed he is considering giving up on his Catholic faith and converting to Islam.The Hollywood star, 59, was recently filming in Turkish city Istanbul and became fascinated with the Muslim faith during his stay.

He said: "The Call to Prayer happens five times a day and for the first week it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit and it's the most beautiful, beautiful thing"
He continued saying, "There are 4,000 mosques in this city. Some are just stunning and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim."

So, it looks like he won't be copying Madonna and taking an interest in Kabbalah, or following in Tom Cruise's footsteps to become a Scientologist?

Liam Neeson, the actor was raised in Northern Ireland as a Catholic altar boy and was named after his local priest.

On his Catholic beliefs, he said:

"I was raised a Catholic, but I think every day we ask ourselves, not consciously, 'What are we doing on this planet?' What's it all about?"

"I am constantly reading books on God or the absence of God and atheism."

And now he has been seen reading the Quran (English translation) - but we don't know which translation yet.

All I can say is well done Liam. I'm from Northern Ireland and we have a big Mosque in Belfast and much respect for the Muslim community. I myself reads the Quran and hope to be converted. It's the peace that attracts me and the beautiful words of the Quran and I hope Liam does convert.

Islam is a religion of peace in the fullest sense of the word. The Quran calls its way ".The ways of peace." [Quran: 5:16] It describes reconciliation as the best policy [Quran: 4:128], and states that Allah (swt) abhors any disturbance of peace [Quran: 2:205]

The root word of Islam is 'Silm', which means peace. So the spirit of Islam is the spirit of peace.

I am proud of you ...for sure you are trodding the correct path as Islam is the way of all the prophets of the creator Adam to Muhammad,and ultimately it is the religion God ordained for all mankind.
God said in the Quran:
*This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah - 2:2-4
*It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, . 9:33. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. Allah named you "Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] So establish prayer and give zakah and hold fast to Allah . 22:78

I recently heard about your conversion, and I wish you the best. I do not understand the big deal. I am jewish and I am sick of the xenophobia and bigotry in our nation. I at one time got caught up in it, and then realized it was unfair and absurd. All religions have their zealotry and can give a bad name to it.

Allah is the provider for all living things in this world and in the hereafter, He will still select and provide for them only those who follow the true teaching and practice of messengers of Allah and particularly of Prophet Abraham(ASW) Prophet Musa (ASW) Prophet Isa ( Jesus) (ASW) Prophet Muhammad(SWS) and the only people that follow those true practices and teachings of Messengers of Allah are people who practice and teachings of ISLAM. Therefore being Muslim is a very big blessing of Allah that cannot be quantified. I pray Allah to give you the blessing, Ameen.
