A beautiful path to walk. Let us learn from this young man.
He's not chasing after this dunya, and what does the Quran say about his mindset.
Turn Away From Dunya
There’s a young, bright man . . .
He sees his friends chasing cars, careers, cash, and clicks.
But something in his heart whispers, “This isn’t it.”
While others chase the next post, next pair of shoes, next paycheck, he’s searching for the next prayer, the next ayah, the next moment of peace with his Creator.
People say he’s missing out. But is he?
He just smiles and walks away.
He knows something they don’t:
“This life is temporary,
the real one is coming.”
He’s not lazy.
He works.
He studies.
He helps others.
He gives charity quietly.
He doesn’t live for this world —
He uses it as a tool, not a treasure.
He avoids sins even when no one’s watching.
He’s not perfect — but he’s focused.
He prays not because it’s popular —
He knows —
Who he is standing in front of.
This young man — if he holds on —
He's one of the best of all people.
Quran Says About This Dunya:
“Know the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting... and rivalry in wealth and children — like the rain whose [growth] pleases the farmers; then it dries and you see it turning yellow, then it becomes debris...”
— Surah Al-Hadid 57:20
“But the Hereafter is better and more lasting.”
— Surah Al-A‘la 87:17
“Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter — We increase for him in his harvest. And whoever desires the harvest of this world — We give him thereof, but he will have no share in the Hereafter.”
— Surah Ash-Shura 42:20
What the Prophet ﷺ Said
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ told us seven types of people who will be shaded by Allah on the Day of Judgment — one of them is:
“A young man who grew up worshipping Allah.”
— [Bukhari & Muslim, Sahih Hadith]
Final Reminder
This dunya is a test.
The young man who walks away from its glitter for the sake of Allah is not “missing out” — he’s investing in forever.
And as Allah says:
“And the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah.
Will you not then understand?”
— Surah Al-An‘am 6:32
