"Peace Or Jihad" - Against Any Aggressor - Even the Muslims"
- (quote) Dr. Jafar Sheikh Idris

The former professor at Madinah University in Saudi and advisor to many teachers and presenters of Islam throughout the world over many decades explains how Islam fights - against aggression.

As one of the first scholars of Islam to debut on television many years ago, Dr. Idris showed the audience at that time, the peaceful and tolerant way of true Muslims,  at the advise of former mufti of Saudi, Abdulaziz bin Baz, may Allah have Mercy on him.

Dr. Jaafar Sheikh Idris is considered one of few Muslim Scholars of this era who comprehended the knowledge of Islam and Western Ideologies. He authored many articles and  research papers. He visited many countries around the world where he lectured in Arabic and English.

Dr. Idris was born on 15th June 1931 in Port Sudan, Sudan. He grew up in the city of Port Sudan where he completed his elementary and secondary school.   In addition to the modern school system, he studied Quran in traditional Quranic schools.  He also studied Fiqh, Hadith and Arabic Language under traditional teachers in the city  and studied Aqida with “Ansar al-Sunnah” group. He finished his high school in Hantoob High School, in Al-Jazeera province, one of three high schools in the country then. Admission was very hard but he made it due to his high academic records. After that he joined University of Khartoum where he completed his education and traveled to London for post graduate studies..

His degrees include: Ph.D., (Philosophy), University of Khartoum/University of London, 1970. The topic of his Ph.D. thesis was "The Concept of the causality in Islam".

BA, (honors), Philosophy, (Economics, minor.), University of Khartoum,1961.

Dr. Idris at one time represented a number of prominent organizations to further a better understanding of Islam to American converts. The one-time diplomat to U.S. had lived in Falls Church, Virginia back in the 1990s and was instrumental in giving the proper balance to many well-known preachers of Islam. Imam Siraj Wahaj, Imam Mutahhir Sabree, Yusuf Estes and many others have benefitted from his well balanced and moderate teachings of real Islam in English language.

A number of former students have planned to visit the sheikh sometime around Hajj time, inshallah. Please do remember him in your duas.

PLEASE COMMENT (BELOW) Tell Dr. Jafar you are praying for him - Share your duas with all of us please...

He is an inspiration, I make dua to guide you and your children on the straight path just like you showed Allah's way to your parents.
The human is not designed to completely fit this world. We die here. We are designed to fit a place where we get what we want when we want, including a deathless life.(i.e paradise). I hope we both are high in the ranks in jannah. Oh Allah help us.
