What did the Western media say about Islam?

The Western media today hardly say anything in favor of Islam.

When reporting anything about Islam, in comparison to any other religion, the Western media are real instigators and fault finders, while they are excuse finders when dealing with any other religion.

However, the truth at one time did push the media to say some of the truth - but that was back then - before 9/11 wasn't it?

This old article showed a whole different picture back in the 1990's about what the Western media had to say about Islam. It is really worth reading and comparing to the very same media companies today.

I am of the opinion that such quotes and opinions contributed to fear of Islam in the United States particularly among Christian Evangelists who always saw in Islam a rival and a threat to their livehood. When you are insignificat, people generally leave you alone but when you start to grow and expand as Muslims did, they become a target. 911 of course accelerated this fear exponentially.

This really doesn't mean anything. Like previously posted, theses comments are from 2 decades ago. What are they saying now, and what effects have those words had? Those are some questions that need to be discussed. Every once in a while, politicians throw out a few nice words. However what's needed now is real diplomatic action from muslims in the west. Cause muslims and the governments in the middle east fumble at best.

Alhamdulillah.. . Islam is the only logical religion in 21st century & will Inshallah overpower all other religions of the world, however much the media maligns it.

"When truth is hurled against falsehood, falsehood perishes for falsehood is by its nature bound to perish" (Holy Quran 17:81)

Sadly, these quotes are from the late 80's to mid 90's. The perception of Islam today is a bit different. But, Alhamdulillah, Islam continues to grow regardless of the media's perception of Islam.
