i also agree with muslimah.I really appreciate shiekh Yusuf Estes for the wonderful Dawah job he is doing,MashaAlla h and the best reward is with Allah subhana wata ala. Such awards may effect the purity of intentions of a believer that is even more dangerous as the deeds may get rejected by Allah.

Also, it may start to make certain people feel like Islam is something inaccessible. Confined to these sorts of showy ceremonies, and if you're not getting an award, you're out of the circle. Like a brother said, it may also corrupt some people's intention. There's just something about this whole ritual of giving an award for dawah, that seems off to me, against the way of the Prophet, pbuh. Too ostentatious. I do very much respect and admire Sheikh Yusuf Estes, may Allah reward him greatly and assist him to continue in his amazing work, Ameen. But this award ceremony that these people in UAE.

I do think Sheikh Yusuf Estes is worthy of a great reward, but from Allah, not from UAE or whoever. I don't think they're qualified to be knowing who's number 1 in service to Allah. We talk a lot about Bidah and to avoid it, and now there's this, which could potentially be used by Shaitan, slowly slowly. Remember how Shaitan got the people of the generations before Nuh (pbuh) to first do Bidah hassanah, and then completely warped it later on?

I dont think these big awards are so great. this could ruin someones intention for Allah. But i guess they knwo what they are doing i hope so.

yes, i think it is ok to give him such awards. but he should not want it for shwoing off or something.
