Good words for Prince Waleed who says "Move Ground Zero Mosque to another location"

-- contributed by Sister Sadia
The fact is - Prince Waleed bin Talal doesn't have a clue to the real facts behind this whole scenario.
Read this -

The Kingdom Foundation has contributed to the group run by Feisal Abdul Rauf, but he said he had not given funds to the planned centre. Prince Alwaleed urged the backers of the proposed center "don't agitate the wound by saying, 'We need to put the mosque next to the 9/11 site'."

"Those people behind the mosque have to respect, have to appreciate and have to defer to the people of New York,"the prince was quoted as saying."The wound is still there. Just because the wound is healing you can't say, 'Let's just go back to where we were pre-9/11.
'"Prince Alwaleed, who chairs a Saudi investment company that has major stakes in News Corporation and Citigroup, also said Muslims in New York should consider a more dignified location than the proposed site in lower Manhattan.

"It can't be next to a bar or a strip club, or in a neighbourhood that is not really refined and good. The impression I have is that this mosque is just being inserted and squeezed over there," he said.

Why doesn't he fly over in his private jet and take a look for himself, instead of giving off his "impression"? It is not being "inserted" and "squeezed" into anything...
And what the heck does he know about the needs of New Yorkers, whether Muslim or Non-Muslim?

Does he know that the head of the association for the relatives of those victims, William Rodriguez (
Last Man Out of the World Trade Center) spoke to Muslims just days before September 11, this year, and clearly said, "The relatives of the victims want to demonstrate on 9/11 - but not against the building of the mosque at so-called 'Ground Zero' - Rather, they want to speak out against the false claims in the media saying they have condemned this as a location for a mosque. They want this whole thing silenced and put to sleep. "Leave us out of these situations and stop lying about us. Leave us alone. Don't use our dead relatives for your political agendas".

Fact is - the only person who actually came on TV (Foxy enough), was a woman in Washington, D.C. claiming her brother was the pilot of the plane that struck the Pentagon... (yeah, 350 miles away from 'Ground Zero').

When it comes to this "Ground Zero Mosque" it is no wonder he supports it and the "modernist, mystical Muslims" who are behind it all. After all, take a look at the TV station the same prince funded in Riyadh, KSA...

Remember the Saudi Prince who gave 10 million dollars over to the mayor of New York City right after 9/11?.. and the mayor said publicly, "We don't want any money from you.." (remember???)

Same prince!
Oh yeah, rumor has it, they never gave back the ten million anyway - LOL

"No Clue", this guy...

I just wish, Muslims, whoever they are, and where ever they are - would think before the speak and not have an opinion about everything in the world just for the sake of conversation. I read in Quran in surah Hujjurat that we are not supposed to have suspicions and not supposed to say things without proof.
Doesn't that apply to the big shots with their big bucks?

Salaam Alykium,__I have to agree with the prince here. It is in bad taste. Now, there is nothing wrong with building the masjids, dawah, spreading Islam, of course. No, in'shallah Islam will spread throughout the world. However, when we see, through the reaction of the bulk of the citizens of New York that they simply do not want a masjid there, for us to go ahead and do it anyway is not spreading Islam, or making a big statement, it is an act, in my opinion, of arrogance, and disregard for the non muslim citizens of this country. How much better could Islam had been represented, if we just moved the Islamic Center, out of courtesy? Then we would be seen as tolerant and patient. ____Wa Salaam__Abdullah
EDITORS NOTE: The families of the victims DID NOT say any of the things the media claimed.. They were protesting on 9/11 against the newspaper and the TV for lying about them. The New York times published a full page apology for not verifying the information before publishing. (that was the whole point of the article - "Muslims Speak without Knowledge")

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa ramatullahi wa barakatuh,_I really don't know much about the kings, queens, princes or princesses in Saudi. Haven't ever been too interested in any ones pedigree I guess. However, in defense of what this man stated at first I thought the same thing as he did. My first reaction was that it was in poor taste. It was presented that the building was being erected AT ground zero. Now don't get me wrong. I personally have doubts that any Muslim group did 9/11, and if it was a quote
