Meaning:

- a measure
- a standard

- Canon → used by the Church
- Qanun (قانون) → used in Arabic
Both carry the idea of:
Rules, Standards, Systems
It means, in Christianity:
- Canon Law = rules of the Church
- Organized by councils, scholars, leaders
- Applied inside the institution
