Quran Translation From Surah An-Nur (The Light)

Quran 24_51_learn

Chapter 24, Verse 51:

The only proper statement for the true believers when they hear Allah's Words and the words of His Messenger, peace be upon him, concerning judgment between them, is for them to say:

"We hear and we obey!" And these are the successful!

Quran 24_51_AQread

Explanation of verse 51: When the Quran of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger Muhammad, peace be upon him, is brought in front of true believers in Allah and the prophet, peace be upon him, they have no option or alternative other than to say, "We hear and we do obey". It is these who attain the highest status and dwell forever in the Paradise. Conversly, those who disbelieve or are hypocritical loudly proclaim, "We hear..", but have no intention within their hearts to obey. True happiness in the Hereafter is never gained by deceit, lies or fraud, rather it is reward for those who carefully listen to and fulfill the orders of Almighty God in their daily lives, and His prophet, peace be upon him.

Hadeeth of the Prophet,
peace be upon him

Abdullah ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace be upon him, ordered the payment of one Sa' of dates or one Sa' of barely grain to be paid as zakat ul fitr for each servant or free person, male or female, youth or elder, and he ordered that it should be paid before the people go out for the Eid salat. (1 Sa' equals about 3 KG)

Sahih Al Bukhari Vol. 2, book 25, #579

Purpose of Zakat

Each and every one of us as Muslims are required to pay our zakat ul Fitr at the end of the month of Ramadan, as a show of our thankfulness to Allah, Subhannah wa Ta'ala, because He made it possible for us to do the fasting. Purification for those who fasted in the month of Ramadan, by obstaining from food, drink, intimacy with our spouses, and from bad language or talk as well as to help the orphans, poor and needy more than usual. It also makes way for the needs of the poor, the wayfarer and those who are impoverished, providing for them without need to beg or ask for charity on this occasion of Eid.

Our prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Fulfill the needs on this day" (the day of 'Eid).

And remember to praise Allah - Al Hamdulillah! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!
