Israel Troops Shoot Farmers For

Coming To Close

Gaza City, Palestine -- November 24, 2012 Israeli troops just shot and kiled one Palestinian and wounded others in Gaza bringing a truce of only 1 day seriously close to an end.

But Hamas leaders and other Muslim organizors say, "Truce is not broken" asking Muslims everywhere to respect the peace agreement and not to seek revenge.

Palestinian and Gaza leaders along with Hamas all assure us the truce now in place is like none of the previous peace accords. And this time it was real and there must be no killing of innocent men, women or children and they can now at last enjoy their own land by going about as they like without fear of previous occupation.

But are they wrong?

Since being assured the new peace agreement would be upheld by the heavily armed Israeli military patroling the walled border between Gaza and Israel and that citizens of Palestinia would be allowed to move about on their land, some ventured into what had been previously called a"no-go zone', even though it was over one thousand feet away from the Israeli/Palestinian border.

Previously, Israeli soldiers routinely opened fire,  killing anyone seen approaching the border regardless of the reason or appearance of those unfortunate enough to venture forth.

As soon as some citizens ventured close to this "no-go zone", Israeli troops opened fire on them with a hail of bullets, killing one and leaving others wounded and terrified as they ran for cover.

Israeli soldiers fired on innocent farmers and killed one youth, wounding others.

Cease-fire vilolations and other illegal actions risk undermining the peace agreement that had only just been in place less than 48 hours.

Video footage of the event is reported to show a large number of Palestinian citizens comprised of farmers hoping to once again plant and harvest their lands along the border and a number of youth approaching the border and even speaking to the soldiers. Some of the youth were chanting "Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!" (God is Greatest! God is Greatest!) and "Morsi, Morsi" (the name of the Egyptian president who helped broker the peace agreement less than 2 days before).

Video shows all ~

The video showed an Israeli soldier shouting in Hebrew what sounded like, "Go there, I shoot you" pointing away toward Gaza. He then drops down in a firing position on one knee aiming right at the young people and old alike and suddenly you hear firing of weapons. It cannot be determied from the video if the shots which caused the casualties actually came from his weapon. However, it was clear those who were shot were unarmed and running away from the Israeli soldiers.

Total number of deaths confirmed at the time of this report are at least one, and many others in serious or wounded condition.

But ~ the Truce is NOT BROKEN

Palestinians are not considering the truce to be "broken" as of yet. They say the peace agreement is still in force from their side, provided of course this remains an isolated occurance.

Leaders of other countries and those in the Muslim world are being advised by Palestinian leaders to consider this as a remote and independent incident and not to react or take any action.

PEACE is the objective - Not revenge" ~ say Muslim leaders, and "Stay Focused"
