I'm just 16 years old and my parent never really encouraged me to do anything good. For a long time I blelieved praying and fasting was not obligatory because my mother and father almost never pray. . But later I found out that it's farz and about the punishments for not praying, I try to pray but I just can't because I never prayed at young age, atleast not with a proper intention and it's like something new now. Also because my parents including my younger brother always speak bad words at each other  , they say such words to me so often, sometimes I just can't resist getting very angry. Because of this tension my parents are heading for divorce and my younger brother almost has got mad. He doesn't even want to leave the house anymore to buy sweets. He's always in front of the Tv.  . In the middle of all this is me. . Maybe I should get punished for not trying to solve the problems in my house. . I try a lot to pray but every body makes fun of me and discourage it even though they say they are Muslims. My mother says to not keep a beard and forces me to shave it saying that it's called clean shaving. Even though for my age my beard is growing fast my family makes fun of it asking me to join the terrorists in Afghanistan or something. I don't know what to do most of the times. Sometimes I think of killing myself   I never really had true friends because in my school the word 'friend' is used for someone who is a gangster, makes fun of others and tell bad words. I swear to Allah that there is not a single sentence uttered by most children where it does not contain a bad or disgusting word. . The only people I love in my town are the old people who regularly go to mosque. I swear this place is hell. And most people here are demons. Can someone email me what I should do? Should I suffer the next ten years here where doing good is almost forbidden then flee to Mekkah or medina when I grow up and get a job? Or should suicide?   . Or is it my resposiblilty to grow up become a political leader and force people to change their behaviour? Either way pls do due that Allah grants me patience so that I survive tomorrow. . Sometimes I just wish I was a rock.

Assalam-o-Alaik um Dear Brothers/sister s. I want to add something here. During the time of Prophet (P.B.U.H), the science was not much developed. But now a days, most of the things have been replaced with that era. e.g. Camels have been replaced with Land Curisers, Cars etcs. Tooth Brush has taken the place of Miswak. In the same way, razors were not available at the time of Prophet (P.B.U.H) and people prefer to grow their beard as there was no alternate. Now a days, Razors are widely available and one can shave to beautify his face or to trim his beard. That's my point. So, please give me suggestions regarding my above mentoned explanation.

Assalamu Alaikum,__Allah Knows best.__As per Prophet Mohamed(SAS), he ordered to grow beard and trim mustach to differenciate from the other religion people, that means growing the beard and make it recognisable and trimming the mustach closely. It is one one\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\'s own wish to decide on how much we need to grow the beard. There is no hadeeth saying about the minimum lenght of the beard or so. Also it is not forbidden to beautify you by trimming the beard to make it uniform.__Just imagine when a person grows the beard till it reaches his feet. (yes, it is possible u might have seen some guinness record holders), will we stil say cutting beard is haram. there should be logical application of hadees, not ur own opinion. grow beard till everyone recognises that u have a beard is sunnah. the lenght of the beard is not given by any hard and fast hadees/rules.__ Also since the lengh as suggested by the scholars is not based on authentic hadees (saying till the beard grows to the fetch of the hand). Dont be mislead by the weak hadees and the scholars who use weak hadees as rules.__There is no disobedience by trimming ur beard to make you look neat. Because Allah (SWT) loves it.

Mushallah, Thank you for this important information Sheikh! In all honestly, I feel troubled when I see a clean shaven man holding hands with a Muslim sister all covered up; I see it as setting a bad example on the brothers part! I feel like saying something to the brother, but I\'m afraid I\'ll come off as insulting, start a heated argument and displease Allah all at the same time. I have a hard time reconizeing Muslim brothers (i have not met before) outside the musjid; I don\'t use ethnicity or names to guess if someone freely and willing submits, surenders peacefully to Allah on his terms in Islam, I go by actions like letting the beard flow, giving duwa, encouraging good deeds, etc. I see our Muslim sisters (in Toronto, Canada) put in so much effort for Allah subhana wa\'tallah... Why can\'t we brothers make the same effort for Allah subhana wa\'tallah? Brothers, inshallah, we will stop coping those that are coping the magicians/pagan s/evil doers (eg. Alister Crowley or Anton LaVey) and lets start looking like the men that Allah subhana wa\'tallah created us to be, Inshallah
