EDITOR: good question. Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, told us 'Pray as you see me pray.' According to reports he used to move his finger in the salat. One report mentions pointing it toward the KA'BAH while moving/shaking it. For more on this topic, visit [censored]searc hforislam.com and type in SALAT ... Hope we answered your question. sallaam,_please explain to me,B i am a new convert, i am still getting use to my sallaats and i always raise my right finger while doing the tashahhud because that is how i see my husband praying but still unsure what it represents or what i am supposed to be counting i think it is the names of Allah, but how can i remember all the names? where can i get a accurate list of all the names or attributes that we are supposed to be counting with our fingers? if anyone can answer please answer..... shokran for great article, i wasn't so sure about those beads to begin with and glad i never used them...seems they bring too much attention to ourselves rather than Allah in my opinion. may Allah guide us all to the straight way inshallah :-)
