It appears from his statement in the mosque, that Mayor Boris Johnson, did indeed...

convert his attitude and direction toward accepting many things about Muslims and Islam.
Several news papers have offered lead stories claiming Mayor Boris Johnson of London, UK had accept Islam.
Upon close inspection and reading the articles associated with this claim, it becomes clear this was all an attempt to get more people upset and dissatisfied with Mayor Johnson.
Actually, Mayor Johnson had paid a visit to the local mosque in East London and declared that everyone should at least try one day of fasting, just as the Muslms do in Ramadan.
This is what he said:

Whether it's in theatre, comedy, sports, music or politics, Muslims are challenging the traditional stereotypes and showing that they are, and want to be, a part of the mainstream community...Muslims are at the heart of every aspect of society. Their contribution is something that all Londoners benefit from. Muslim police officers, doctors, scientists and teachers are an essential part of the fabric of London.

Islamic finance is contributing to the economy by changing the way Londoners invest, save, borrow and spend. There are valuable lessons that people of all backgrounds can learn from Islam such as the importance of community spirit, family ties, compassion and helping those less fortunate, all of which lie at the heart of the teachings of Ramadan.

Although there was no indication from the mayor that he would be changing religions, he did make it clear that everyone should try the fasting, at least one day in Ramadan.
This is the month of Ramadan and it is the celebration of fasting to follow the orders of Quran for fasting, just as those people before us (Jews and Christians) had also been ordered to fast.
