A British man has successfully delivered his baby boy after watching DIY baby delivery video clips on the video sharing website YouTube.

Marc Stephens managed to deliver his 2.4-kg child by watching childbirth videos on his home computer in Redruth, Cornwall.

"I spent about half an hour on Google and watched a couple of videos on YouTube. One was a cheesy American video called: This Is How You Give Birth," said the 28-year-old father.

Stephens had to deliver the baby himself after he could not find a midwife to help his wife who went into labor at 2:00 in the morning.

The California-based YouTube website was created in February 2005, providing users with video clips to upload, view and share.

YouTube was bought by Google Inc. for $1.65 billion in 2006 and is now operated as a subsidiary of Google.

Although a big portion of the material on YouTube is uploaded by individuals, some media corporations such as CBS and BBC offer some of their material via the website.
