Quoting Mariam:
I am still confused as to whether music is halal or haram.__I take the stand that a muslim should not listen to music for prolonged hours.__One should not listen to lyrics that have shirk material in it.__Music should not be listened to at the time of azaan or if quran is being recited in the vicinity.__Children should not be allowed to possess musical instruments or given an opportunity to learn to play any of them.__But come to think of it. . . it's better just to avoid music in any form . . . __It's not goin' to lead us anywhere close on towards the path to janna . . .

EDITOR: to Mariam - MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS ARE HARAM (according to evidence in this article. But some things are permitted. Try reading again please.

Music is not haram and this author has overlooked or withheld very important information. This surely must be one of the most poorly researched series on the topic. You really should not publish such self-promoting, arrogant pieces and mislead people. Editor: Sorry you didn't like the article. However, the research covers four (4) chapters, all of which is researched heavily from Quran and Sunnah. If you have any evidence that musical instruments are halal, please offer it (and please refrain from insulting other brother Muslims, this only works against your points)
