Unity of Prophecy

One God — One Message

— Many Prophets

From Adam to the last messenger, prophecy always was one message:

  • Worship Allah alone

  • Avoid false gods

  • Live with justice and mercy

“And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], ‘Worship Allah and avoid false gods.’”
(Quran 16:36 — ReciteQuran.com/16:36)

The prophets did not contradict one another — they came in a line, each confirming what came before, until the chain was sealed with Muhammad ﷺ.

Earlier Scriptures — Prophecies

  • Abraham (Ibrahim ﷺ): Promised a great nation through his descendants.

  • Moses (Musa ﷺ): Spoke of a prophet like him, from among the brethren of Israel (Deuteronomy 18:18, RSV).

  • Jesus (Isa ﷺ): Announced the coming of “the Paraclete” (comforter/helper) after him (John 16:7, RSV).

Muslims see these as glimpses of the final messenger — Muhammad ﷺ — who brought the last revelation.

Quran as Fulfillment

The Quran confirms and corrects earlier scriptures.

“He has sent down upon you the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel before, as guidance for the people.”
(Quran 3:3 — ReciteQuran.com/3:3)

Where the Bible has prophecy, the Quran clarifies its meaning, showing the continuity of revelation.

Hadith Prophecies

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ told many prophecies we see today:

  • Spread of Riba (interest):A time will come when no one will remain who does not consume riba, and if he does not consume it, its dust will reach him."   (Ibn Majah 2278)

  • Nations Gather Together: “The nations will will call each other against you like someone calling to a banquet.”    (Abu Dawud 4297)

  • End of Time: "Jesus ﷺ will return, break the cross, kill the false messiah (Dajjal), and rule with justice".    (Bukhari & Muslim)

These connect with earlier prophecies in the Bible about false messiahs, corruption, and coming of the Kingdom of God.

Islam Unites the Chain

  • The Past: From Adam to Jesus ﷺ, one God, one straight path.

  • The Present: The Quran as the preserved guidance, explaining and protecting earlier truth.

  • The Future: Hadith and Quranic prophecies about the Last Day, which line up with what was hinted in the earlier scriptures.

All Together

Islam doesn’t erase prophecy — it ties it together.

“Indeed, this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.”

     (ReciteQuran.com/21:92)

The same God spoke to Moses, Jesus, ﷺ and all the prophets is the One who revealed the Quran to Muhammad ﷺ.

The chain is unbroken, the message is clear,
and the final word is preserved forever.
