Explanation of Purpose of This Research and Presentation
Chapter 1
"Is 'King James' Version the Actually the Bible?"
NOTE: The word "Bible" if from Koine Greek: “biblos" —- it means "book" in English. While the word “bible” is not in the Bible do we find the word "Bible" many times in the “Last Testament” (The Recitation - Qur’an in Arabic) referring to “People of the Book” (Jews and Christians).
The King James "version" of the Bible is in English. The English language came after 1066 C.E. when the Normans invaded and took over the Saxxons.
The English Bible didn’t exist until some centuries after this.
The English Bible cannot be anything close to what prophets spoke or understood. It didn’t exist until over 1,000 years later.
My grandfather, a devout Christian man, gave me The Revised Standard Version of the Bible, published in 1901.
This Bible was the correction of mistakes in the King James versions (the first revision of the King James Version was in 1612, the very next year after it was first printed).
I was impressed with the easier to read text and clarification of some of the wording presented in this version and began to read the Bible on a daily basis.
In addition to correcting the mistakes, the RSV replaced the Elizabethan English terms, phrases and expressions of the Bible to make it more accurate and understandable.
My love and respect for the Words of God increased more every time I read it.
The RSV was my most respected book in my life. I turned to it in times of joy, pain, joy, and sadness.
It was my compass, road map, weather vane — and above all, my best friend.
There were still some problems with this NEW IMPROVED VERSION of the Bible.
I asked my father about this. He was an ordained minister and he loved the Bible, but didn’t charged money for the Word of God.
Based on his research and background in the origin and sources for modern day Christianity, I began to go deeper into the problems disturbing my thinking and faith since childhood.
I prayed to Almighty God and then found the answers to some of the problems were spelled out very clearly in the very beginning of the exact same book. I have that book lying in front of me on my desk as I write this article and would like to quote to you from some of the PREFACE page iii and iv:
