ISLAM NEWSROOM - Man charged with "Terrorism" for coughing on lady, saying "I have the coronavirus.
A New Jersey man got charged with "Terrorism" and 2 other charges on Tuesday for allegedly coughing on a grocery store clerk while claiming to have coronavirus, according to the attorney general there.
George Falcone got 3 criminal charges total against him, including the terroristic threat, obstructing administration of law enforcement, and harassment. Terroristic threats carries up to 5 years and $15,000.00 in fines.
The incident took place on Sunday in Wegmans grocery store located in Manalapan, New Jersey. The worker was concerned when Wegman was standing too close to her near an open case of prepared foods. She says she asked him to step back as she covered the food. Falcone instead, stepped closer to her and leaned to her purposely coughing and said he was infected with the coronavirus.
“These are extremely difficult times in which all of us are called upon to be considerate of each other— not to engage in intimidation and spread fear, as alleged in this case,” said Attorney General Grewal. “We must do everything we can to deter this type of conduct and any similar conduct that harms others during this emergency. Just as we are cracking down on bias offenses and those who use the pandemic to fuel hatred and prejudice, we vow to respond swiftly and strongly whenever someone commits a criminal offense that uses the coronavirus to generate panic or discord.”
