ISLAM NEWSROOM "FAMOUS MUSLIMS IN AMERICA"

"NO MORE MUSLIMS"? "WE'RE ALL BORN MUSLIM!"

TRUMP MOOREDonald Trump, 45th President of U.S.A. — &  — Michael Moore, Movie Producer

Donald Trump (hates Muslims), 45th president of the U.S, once called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States."

Michael More (says, ”We're all Muslims), famous movie producer & voice of true Ameircans!

A very insensitive and most controversial statement brought a very strong backlash and the wrath of many Americans including Muslims.

So many were outraged at the insensitivity and racist attitude of the new president were Muslims. And many of those Muslims are famous!

Famous athletes, famous and talented musicians, famous professional personalities, famous poets, authors, journalists and of course, famous sports celebrities   that many folks did not realize were also MUSLIMS.

Michael Moore stood in front of Trump Tower in New York on January 21, 2017 the day after inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th president -- with a sign proclaiming, "We are ALL MUSLIM".

There are some real Muslims in America, maybe more than you know. And some of them are famous - VERY FAMOUS . .   (Maybe even more famous than Mr. Trump)

Here in review are only a few of the . . Famous Muslims of America

Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik 1

Easily one of the top most famous Muslims in today’s pop culture, Zayn Malik is also a Muslim

Zayn Malik 2

Born in the U.K. to a Pakistani family, Zayn’s faith has brought on a constant stream of antagonism, conflict and criticism.

For instance, Debbie Schlussel, an ultra-conservative blogger, warned in one of her rants, “Jihad is sneaking into American girls’ favorite pop band” (well at least she got part of it right - “favorite pop band”).

Consider what a certain (unworthy of mention by name) rapper released in on track with the words, “Zayn Hussein did 9/11”. That was in 2013.

Zayn Malik 3

Two years later (another unworthy to mention) wanna-be comedian, whose initials are “B.M.” compared Zayn Malik’s appearance to the “the Boston Marathon Bomber” — Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

But non-Muslims weren’t the only source of criticism Zayn Malik experienced. Many Muslims pointed out his tattoos, smoking and “lifestyle” are very much in opposition with the teachings of Islam.

The hashtag #RespectForZayn became somewhat popular with his fans on Twitter, considering he should not be unfairly judged for his beliefs and practices.

Incidentally, smoking, tattoos and “lifestyle” (you-know-what-it-means) mentioned here are definitely NOT OK in Islam.

However, let us keep in mind what Allah tells us in the Quran, chapter 4, verse 48:

Allah does not forgive ‘shirk’ (setting up partners with Him in worship), but anything less than that, He can forgive..

So let’s pray that Zayn Malik and all of us will come back to true Islam before the last breath and be forgiven, ameen.

Another famous person with music (and more) . . .

Janet Jackson

Janet J 5

Janet J 6Janet Jackson is the youngest of the famous Jackson family. She’s been at the top of pop culture and considered a sex symbol for a number of years. 160 million plus records and five Grammys later, her list of number one songs, including “That’s the Way Love Goes, “All for You” and “Nasty” are only a few of the massive collection still popular with fans today.

Janet Jackson married Wissam Al Mana in Qatar and after being exposed to her brother’s faith and now her husband’s way of life, accepted Islam and decided to tone down her revealing costumes and musical lyrics as well.

Some comments containing a lot of wisdom come from the heart of this very public entertainer. Janet Jackson's "The Knowledge" is well worth reflecting on - espeically for today's young people.

Take for instance this one:

"It's nice to laugh - But don't be the joke" -- Janet Jackson "The Knowledge"

Now with her faith and morals in place, Janet Jackson has decided to reduce her "exposure" to the public, and now only displays her beauties to her husband.

You can still find her out in public showing off her smiles and sharing her wonderful pesonality - but now with the proper covering of the modest Muslim lady   "Keep on going girl"

Shaq

Shaq

(Shaquille O’Neal)

Shaquille O’Neal at 7’1” played center and had one of the most famous basketball careers in sports history, playing for 6 different teams in his 19 years, like the Miami Heat, Orland Magic and of course, the L.A. Lakers. He was a 15 time NBA All Star, having led his teams in four National Basketball championships.

He was asked who he considered to be the best center of all times. His answer — “Another Muslim brother, Hakeem Olajuwon”.

He also confirmed plans for visiting Muslim countries like Turkey and of course Makkah in Arabia to perform the Hajj (Muslim’s pilgrimage).

And speaking of Turkey —

Dr. Oz

Dr Oz 3

Dr Oz 1Dr. Mehmet Oz is on of the most famous surgeons in the world today. In addition to being a cardio-thoracic surgeon at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, he is a also well as an author.

He is most well known as the host on the popular health and wellness TV series, "The Dr. Oz Show."

But did you know, he was born in American to Turkish parents — and he is a Muslim!

During his interview on PBS “Faces of America”, Dr. Oz tell us his dad is from what he calls the “Quran Belt” in Turkey, while his mom is quite secular.

Dr. Oz explains, As a Turk, growing up in America with one parent from one side of the religious wall and one parent from the other side, and of course America clearly supporting the secular background, I found myself tugged more and more towards the spiritual side of the religion, rather than the legal side of the religion."

We wanted to save the “Best for Last” — THE CHAMP — Most influential Muslim of America . .

Muhammad Ali

When anyone wants to talk about famous American Muslims, one name stands out head and shoulders above all others — THE CHAMP — Muhammad Ali, may Allah have Mercy on His soul, ameen.

Cassius Clay, the number one heavyweight boxing champion of the world, used to say, “I’m the greatest”.

After becoming Muhammad Ali, as a true Muslim he acknowledged, “God is the Greatest!” (Allahu Akbar)

Back in 2015, Ali made it crystal clear in his official statement to the NBC News    “I’m a Muslim. And there is nothing Islamic about killing innocent people in Paris, San Bernardino or anywhere else in the world” he continued saying, “True Muslims know the ruthless violence of so-called Islamic Jihadists goes against the very tenets of our religion” and “Our political leaders should use their position to bring understanding about the religion of Islam and clarify these misguided murderers have perverted people’s views on what Islam really is.”

The champ returned to Allah on June 4, 2016, at the age of 74. Bob Gunnell, the family spokesperson told reporters, "After a 32-year battle with Parkinson's disease, Muhammad Ali has passed away at the age of 74.

The three-time World Heavyweight Champion boxer died this evening," and he continued saying the champ “died of Septic Shock” after spending 5 days in an Arizona hospital for what began as respiratory difficulties.

After his passing, Muhammad Ali was taken back to his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky where many fans from all around the world crowded together for one last chance to say their farewells, and “Salams” (peace from Almighty God).

Champ you will always be champ, and always be missed, but never forgotten.

Long live the legend   and the message: “There is only One God and ONLY HE IS THE GREATEST”.
