ISLAM NEWSROOM - "Who Will Be the Next White House Resident?" [click & 'vote']

Vote white house 1

Attention Muslims - DID YOU VOTE?

America went to the polls this morning to choose our next president in the most decisive and divisive election in the history of the United States.

Inshallah, just hours remain of an 18-month exchange of accusations, insinuations and implications being tossed from one candidate to another.

Out of many original candidates for the Oval Office in the White House, only two are outstanding for the role. Hillary Clinton, former New York Senator and former first lady to Bill Clinton versus Donald Trump, a well known entrepreneur, businessman, developer and game show host on “The Apprentice” remain as the two main contenders.

But which one of them will win? — Good question. Allah Knows!

Clinton won the 1st confirmed hit - With 4 (four) votes!

Trump vs Clinton

Hillary Clinton did get the first confirmed hit - although very small — over Trump, as the small town of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire declared just after midnight EST.

Only eight adults had registered to vote, four of them chose Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump got only two while Gary Johnson, Libertarian party and Mitt Romney, GOP candidate in 2012, each got one vote.

The final, frenzied hours of campaigning saw stars galore and mad dashes to key swing states - including, notably, Michigan, which Democrats have conceded they might lose.

Who wins? — Good question. Allah Knows!

Both Candidates made their final pleas to undecided voters who could help them over the line tonight. Clinton got a 90% chance of defeating Mr. Trump, according to the final Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation stats released last night.

But only Allah Knows - Right?

Most Asian markets rose this morning - China stocks rose to a 10-month high - with investors optimistic but cautious over improving prospects for a win for Mrs Clinton.

Who should have won? Good question. Allah Knows!

State officials braced up for the fitnah (difficulties) today.

Early voting saw lines hours long, at the polling stations for the past few days, with some people getting turned away. Several Democrat activists filed lawsuits claiming they were intimidated by Trump's supporters. Investigators are looking into allegations.

Trump or Clinton

Trump ordered his supporters to get out and personally monitor polling stations for potential voting fraud, rspecterthe spectre of clashes.

Last night, Barack and Michelle Obama "passed on the baton" to Clinton at a star-studded rally in Philadelphia, with performances by Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.

“Tomorrow we face the test of our time," she said, her voice hoarse, as she painted herself as the positive, progressive choice.

She said she marveled at a country where "a girl like me from the South Side of Chicago, whose great-great-grandfather was a slave, can go to some of the finest universities on earth. Where the biracial son of a single mother from Hawaii and the son of a single mother from Hope, Arkansas, can both make it to the White House."

“Let’s make history together,” she concluded, to the roars of a huge crowd.

What's Next? Good question. Allah Knows!

President Obama, whose approval ratings neared a record high of 56% yesterday, said he had been asked recently whether the hope and optimism from his 2008 campaign remained.

"The answer's yes.. and that's because of you. In the letters you've written me, in the tears you've shed for a lost loved one, I've seen again and again your goodness and your strength and your heart," he said.

Lady Gaga appeared at Mrs Clinton's final rally of the campaign in North Carolina, while Madonna also performed a surprise, free concert for the Democrat in New York's Washington Square Park last night.

Vote 3

Mr Trump appeared in Manchester, New Hampshire, alongside his family.

“I am asking for the votes of all Americans, Democrats, Republicans, independents,” Mr. Trump said, “who are so desperately in need of change.”

He repeated his assertion that it was "a rigged, rigged system”.

“And now it’s up to the American people to deliver the justice that we deserve at the ballot box tomorrow,” he said, referencing the decision by the FBI on Sunday night to announce that no criminal charges would be brought against Clinton over her use of a private email server.

The billionaire businessman said that if he loses today, he "will consider [his campaign] the single greatest waste of time, energy and money".

Democracy in space

In a US presidential election that's already been out of this world, the lone American astronaut in outer space has cast his vote, NASA said yesterday.

Vote 5

Shane Kimbrough became the latest astronaut to join in a long tradition of voting while floating above the Earth, inside the orbiting International Space Station, Reuters reports.

Kimbrough rode a Russian Soyuz rocket to the ISS on October 19 to start a four-month mission at the research outpost, along with two Russian cosmonauts.

US astronauts have been able to vote from space since 1997, under Texas law. Most astronauts live in the Houston area, home to NASA's mission control and Johnson Space Center.

The first American to vote from space was David Wolf, who cast his ballot from the Russian space station Mir.

"Current space station resident astronaut Shane Kimbrough is the most recent astronaut to take advantage of the opportunity," NASA said in a statement.

But who did he vote for? — Good questionAllah Knows!

The agency does not give details on who he voted for or even how votes are transmitted.
