Former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee says, “I’ll go to jail in her place!”
GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said “I’m willing to go to jail in Kim Davis’ place,” during an interview following her release from jail.
Huckabee and rival Senator Ted Cruz weighed in with a visit to Davis just before she was release from her cell after being locked up in jail on contempt of court charges. The online Twitter #I’mWithKimLibertyRally and Huckabee were on close by, on hand to share in the “media moment”.
Federal court judge, David Brunning ordered the release of Davis from jail — provided she would “not interfere in any way” with issuance of marriage certificates to gay couples.
Huckabee stated, “Kim Davis sitting behind bars in an orange jumpsuit for 6 days leaves no doubt about criminalization of Christianity in America”.
One liberal quipped, “If Kim Davis breaks the law again, and Huckabee goes to prison in her place - does that mean ‘One Less GOP candidate for Prez to worry about?”
