Here is the proof for the ruling we've all been looking for on the subject of "Beards In Islam"

THE RULLING OF BEARDS & MOUSTACHES
According to Al Quran & Hadith of the Prophet, Peace be upon him . .

First of all, the Quran is the final revelation and Speech of Allah for all humans and jinn. It is not for a Muslim to doubt anything coming from Allah.

Second the teachings of Muhammad, peace be upon him, are a part of the Islam according to the Quran itself. Just as the Quran was memorzied and passed down from generation to generation from mouth to ear, so were the narrations of the prophet, peace be upon him.

So, it is not optional for Muslims when the prophet, peace be upon him, has commanded us to do something or forbidden something to us or ordered us not to do something.

Hadith - Bukhari 7:781, Narrated on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Umar, radiallahu anhu (may Allah accept from him). He said, the prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Cut the moustaches and leave the beard alone".

In Sahih Muslim, hadith narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah accept from him, who said the prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Trim closely the moustache, and grow the beard, and in this way be against the majusi (fire worshippers).

Another hadith in Sahih Al Bukhari, volume 9, hadeeth number 651 - On the authority of Abu Sa'eed Al Khudri, may Allah accept from him. He tells us the prophet, peace be upon him, said, "There will come from the East people who will recite Quran, but it will not exceed their throats, and who will go out of the deen (leave Islam) like an arrow goes through the animal (hunted game), and will never come back to it unless the arrow comes back to the center of the bow (impossible)." The companions asked, "What are their signs?" He, peace be upon him, said, "Their sign is they will have the habit of shaving (their beards)." -- Fateh Al Bari, volume 17, page 322.

In the Muatta of Imam Malik (may Allah have Mercy on Him), there is yet another hadith related to this topic. He says, "Yahya related to me from Malik from Zaid ibn Aslam, that Ata bin Yasar told him the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was in the masjid when a man came in with dishevelled hair and beard. The messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, motioned with his hand that he should be sent out to groom his hair and beard. The man did so and then came back. The messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Isn't this better than for one of you to come with his head dishevelled, like he was a shayton (devil)?"

Trimming of the moustache

Male muslims must not trim the beard, i.e. leave all facial hair to grow as Allah swt has designed it.

Believe that not shaving is what is best for the Muslim.

Medical reports reveal that the beard protects the tonsils from sunstroke.

Shaving of the beard also harms the skin.

Any Muslim shaving their beards off without proper medical or other approved excuse should really fear Allah, honor our prophet's orders and LEAVE the beard while cutting the moustache.

Brothers, get the rewards and the blessings - AND STOP CUTTING OFF YOUR BEARDS.

Remember... Allah, subhana watala, sees everything we do!
