Peace Leader Assassinated by Al Qaeda

Peace Military Leader, Feroz Khail Assassinated ---
Prominent tribesman and leader of a militant peace initiative in Feroz Khail area assassinated yesterday (Friday March 9, 2012).

The leader of the peace militia, Malik Waris Khan from the Stori Khel tribe, was shot and killed when an unidentified man opened fire on him.

The assassination took place in a market area of Feroz Khail, as an unidentified man opened fire on him and killed him instantly.

The killer reportedly ran to a house nearby, was quickly surrounded by military forces. The killer took his own life to avoid being taken into custody.

Reports say he set off a grenade but only received injuries, so as the forces drew in closer he shot and killed himself.

Someone claiming to be from the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (also known as TTP), called up some reporters from unidentified area and said they (TTP) were responsible for the killing.

Khan had received an award called the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz last year (March 23, 2011) for combating militants and restoring peace in his area. Along with his band of forces, Khan fought against his enemies for nearly 2 months, by blocking the road in Chingana, a main supply route into the area of the fighters.

Al Qaeda Killed by U.S. Drone

Al Qaeda Leader Killed by U.S. Drone Strike, Badr Mansoor: Confirmed by Al Qaeda

A senior commander of Al Qaeda, Badr Mansoor has been confirmed dead, killed by a U.S. drone strike sometime last month.

Mansoor's death in the border strike along the Afghan border, is considered quite significant, as he was thought to be the major directive behind many of the suicide attacks, resulting in the deaths of scores of Pakistani civilians in the recent years.

Friday - U.S. based SITE monitoring service claimed the confirmation of Badr Mansoor's death was delivered in a video statment by Al Qaeda's media spokesman and preacher in Pakistan, Ahmad Farooq. The video was reported found on a website forum for jihadis.

Mansoor was originally from Punjab, moved to North Waziristan four years ago, where it is believed he ran a military camp there.

Is it really about peaceful military killing terrorists? Or is it about Terrorist militia killing their own local opposition? Some said it is about the oil. Others claim its all about the drugs (Afghanistan and surrounding area is number one producer of opium in the world).

The amazing thing for Muslims to observe is the fact - it is about Muslims killing Muslims.

What does Islam say about this? Is there anything in the Quran or the hadeeth of the prophet, peace be upon him, on this topic? What can we understand from these events? Are we in the Last Days?
