Mahdi Bray Suffers Stroke

According to the Peace Thru Justice Foundation in Sliver Spring, Maryland, brother Madi Bray has suffered a server stroke and had to be admitted to the hospital to intensive care.

Assalaamu Alaikum (Greetings of Peace):

(recently) The Muslim community recently lost a social activist of sterling character by the name of Mukit Hossain.

It has now come to my attention that another well known Muslim activist Mahdi Bray, has suffered a "massive stroke," and is now hospitalized in intensive care.

Mahdi was reportedly admitted into Fairfax Hospital (Fairfax, VA) on Wednesday morning, and was scheduled for an angioplasty surgical procedure earlier today. Coronary angioplasty (an-jee-oh-plas-tee) is a procedure used to open blocked or narrowed coronary arteries in order to improve blood flow to the heart.

He serves as Executive Director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation (MAS Freedom) based in Washington, D.C.

Let us make du'a for our brother - that ALLAH allows him a full recovery, and a speedy resumption of his much needed civil liberties work. Let this also be a reminder to us all that the body has rights, and we must do all that we can to take care of ourselves...and leave the rest to the qadr of ALLAH.
