Doubts About Islam: Wives? Quran from God? Man made religion?

One of our readers brought the following questions and reasons why he would not accept to worship Allah, along without partners:

QUESTIONS:

1.How do can anyone belive that Allah wrote Quran?

2. Some things in Quran seem acceptable to me. But how can a man get married to 4 wives. And why could a man marry 4 and a woman can't marry 4

If this is true then where is the freedom for the women?
In my opinion Islam is a male religion .

Here are some basic things to consider BEFORE you make a judgment about Islam and the Muslims.

1. The word "Islam" means (complete service in peace and obedience) to the Creator and to the creation of Almighty God. That is the meaning of the word. See: www.IslamTomorrow.com/islam

2. The concept of live in Islam is BALANCE and that means RIGHTS for all of the entire creation of Almighty God, always.

3. Muslims are not allowed to make up anything or lie about anything, especially about the faith and practice of Islam.

You are certainly within your rights to form your own opinion. And we do respect that.

At the same time, have you considered that often times people (humans) do make rules and regulations that seem at the time to be the best way, only to change them to the very opposite later when other needs arise or things change?

Here's an over all about Islam that might help you to focus on the general principles and offer proof there really is God, and there really is a way that He has ordained for humans to follow.

Also, consider these basic things regarding your comments:

1. It is not mandatory for a man to have more than one wife

2. It is not recommended for multiple marriages

3. At the time of revelation, there was no restriction at all on how many wives a man could have

4. There was also no rules on how men could treat their women

5. Women were forced into marriages (or worse)

6. Baby girls were buried alive in the sand and left to die, out of shame for the family to give birth to a female

7. The verse in the Quran regarding this subject limited men to maximum of four

8. But the last statement in the verse about this, clearly implies that marriage to one is most likely

All of this came at a time and place that could barely handle the idea that a woman even had rights at all.

Keep in mind that in the 600's (same time Islam was coming to the Arabs), that the Church (Catholic at that time, there were no Protestants yet) convened a council in Rome to determine if women even had souls.

The Christian Bible forbids divorce. No argument there.

The Quran has a chapter entitled "Divorce" (At-Talaq) and this is clear that while it is something entirely discouraged, there is still a way out for both the man and the woman if things are unbearable. The way is made clear and rules and regulations are set in place to make it balanced for both sides with equity.

If the only thing stopping you from worshipping your Lord and my Lord, your God and my God - is about multiple wives, I suggest you seriously consider the obvious statistics around the world today…

Muslims, in fact, are the most monogamous (one wife) and they are the least likely to go astray into fornication or adultery.

If you are looking for excuses not to believe and serve Almighty God, you might consider a stronger argument than this one.

As to your other concern over the Quran, Allah does not claim to "WRITE" the Quran. The word itself means "Recitation" (not writing) and it was recited to Muhammad, peace be upon him, from the Angel Gabriel (Jibril in Arabic) over a period of 23 years.
