News agencies reported Thursday, December 24, 2009 that a joint Yemeni-United States missile strike targeted the home of popular Islamic lecturer Anwar Al-Awlaki. Yemeni officials said around a dozen Al-Qaida operatives and leaders were in a planning meeting and that Al-Awlaki was among them.
